Packet pick up will be at the 20th Avenue YMCA on Saturday, June 22nd from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM and Sunday, June 23rd, from 6:00 AM – 10:00 AM.

Packets include the wristband needed for access to rest stops and to food and drink during and after the ride.

Do you offer a commemorative biking jersey?

Yes, by preorder only. See JERSEY tab on website.

Is there an age restriction to participate?

No, but we encourage all riders to not over estimate their abilities and conditioning especially for the longer rides.

I changed my mind. Can I get a refund?

No. There are no refunds on registration fees.

Can I register the day of the event?

Yes. You can register on June 22nd or 23rd at the 20 Ave. YMCA.

Several family members plan to register for the ride. Can they complete one registration form?

No. Each participant is required to complete a registration form and digitally accept an ASSUMPTION OF RISK, RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT.

Do I need to be a seasoned cyclist to participate?

No, but we encourage all riders to not over estimate their abilities and conditioning especially for the longer rides.

Are there restrictions on the types of bicycles riders may use?

No, all types of bikes may be used. The entire course is on road surfaces.   However, please make sure your bike is in good working condition.

Are ebikes, recumbent bikes, tandems or pull-behind trailers acceptable?

Yes, all of the above are acceptable.

For tandems, of any kind, both riders need to register, have a bib number, and show valid rider credentials to participate.

For child trailers, make sure your little one is wearing a helmet.  Only the rider pulling the trailer need to register and pay the entry fee.

Do I get a medal for riding?

The Oshkosh Century is not a race, so medals will not be presented at the end.

Do I have to wear a helmet to participate?

Yes, the YMCA promotes bicycling as a healthy, family-friendly, and safe activity. Helmet use when biking is a large part of our advocacy.

What should I bring with me for the ride?

Bring things that make sense but don’t overburden yourself. We suggest a bike, spare tube and the ability to inflate that tire in case of a flat.  A water bottle and snack might come in handy between rest stops. A jacket is advisable in case of bad weather or cool weather.

I’m new to biking. What is SAG?

SAG means “support and gear.” SAG vehicles will travel four routes. You will be provided a number to call SAG for help. The SAG vehicle driver can bring you back to the start/finish line if necessary.

What can I expect at the rest stops?

Expect healthy snacks, drinks, mechanical support and use of the toilet if needed. Feel free to rest and catch up with your cycling friends.

I’m not great with maps. What happens if I get lost along the route?

Pick up a map with turn-by-turn direction cue sheets when you pick up your packet.  All routes will be clearly marked with large signs and key intersections will be staffed by vested volunteers or police.  Call the SAG number if you think you’re lost. The SAG vehicle can pick you up and get you back on track or redirect you to where you’re supposed to be.

How will the proceeds from the ride be used?

The proceeds will benefit YMCA Annual Campaign.

Will the ride be canceled if it rains?

The ride takes place rain or shine. It will be canceled only if extreme weather or an unexpected public safety incident poses a threat to riders’ safety. Decisions on cancellation will be made by the event staff after consulting with public safety officials.  Be sure to carry your cell phone for notifications.

Can I ride a different route after registering?

Yes, but please let us know as far in advance of your change so we my plan food and drink at each rest stop.  Out of respect for our volunteers and police,  if you cannot make a rest stop by the time it closes, choose a shorter route.

I’ve registered, but I can’t make it this year. Can I use my registration next year?

No. Registration is for this year only. Those who register but don’t ride cannot carry over their registration from one year to another. There are no refunds.

Can I transfer my registration to someone else?

Yes, event staff must be notified by email by the week before the ride to update the event’s database. After that, the new rider must pick up the packet, use the existing materials and ride the selected route. Any financial considerations for transfers are between the riders.
